To maximize impact, Noor Dubai broadened its outreach through integrated health campaigns in multiple countries, offering eye screenings, specialized surgeries, and educational programs aimed at preventing visual impairment.

A key advancement in 2024 was the expansion of the Foundation’s telemedicine services, enabling remote consultations for underserved communities. This digital innovation has bridged critical healthcare gaps, ensuring that individuals in remote regions receive timely medical advice and intervention.

Transformative Healthcare Initiatives

His Excellency Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Chairman of Noor Dubai Foundation’s Board of Trustees, highlighted Dubai’s unwavering commitment to healthcare excellence, stating: “Our 2024 report showcases Noor Dubai’s expanding role in humanitarian healthcare. By leveraging technology and fostering strategic partnerships, we continue to deliver life-changing eye care services to millions worldwide.”

Al Ketbi emphasized Noor Dubai’s integrated approach, combining modern medical advancements with capacity-building initiatives in beneficiary countries. Through training programs for local healthcare professionals, the Foundation is ensuring sustainable eye care solutions that will benefit future generations.

Mobile Treatment Camps: Addressing Urgent Needs

Noor Dubai’s mobile treatment camps remained a cornerstone of its humanitarian efforts, delivering critical eye care services in underserved regions. In 2024 alone, these camps conducted 18,279 medical examinations in the Philippines, facilitated 2,596 sight-restoring surgeries in Nigeria, distributed 4,846 medications in Pakistan, and provided 3,095 prescription glasses in Bangladesh.

Since the launch of this initiative in 2010, Noor Dubai’s mobile treatment camps have conducted over 828,000 medical examinations, performed more than 37,000 surgeries, and distributed 85,000 prescription glasses across 19 countries.

Driving Global Efforts to Eliminate Trachoma

The Foundation’s commitment to eliminating trachoma, a leading cause of preventable blindness, remains a priority. The 2024 report highlighted Noor Dubai’s success in reducing trachoma prevalence in 29% of affected regions in Amhara, Ethiopia. Despite these achievements, the disease remains a global concern, affecting nearly 1.9 million people and contributing to 1.4% of global visual impairment cases.

Empowering Communities Through Digital Solutions

Dr. Manal Taryam, CEO and Board Member of Noor Dubai Foundation, underscored the organization’s adoption of digital healthcare solutions to expand its reach. The iBSAR Telemedicine Project in Nepal facilitated virtual consultations for over 13,176 patients, demonstrating the potential of technology in overcoming healthcare barriers.

Additionally, Noor Dubai’s School Eye Health Programme in Nigeria screened 281,103 students and 2,196 teachers in 2024, providing 1,821 prescription glasses and training educators on eye health awareness.

Sustaining Impact Through Strategic Partnerships

Noor Dubai’s continued success is driven by collaboration with international health organizations and governments. By working closely with global partners, the Foundation has strengthened healthcare systems, expanded its service reach, and enhanced treatment accessibility for millions.

Looking ahead, Noor Dubai remains dedicated to its mission of eradicating preventable blindness and ensuring that quality eye care is available to all, regardless of location or circumstance.
