A Designer Who Inspires Women: Venera Tabakin on the World’s Red Carpets

I’m Venera Tabakin, a fashion designer based in London, devoted to crafting bold, elegant gowns that celebrate the strength and sensuality of the modern woman. My creative journey began in an unexpected place—Phuket, Thailand—where I became the first non-Thai designer to present a collection. Designing for a diverse and dynamic expat community, I refined my style amidst a rich cultural backdrop.

Upon returning to the UK, I continued to build my brand, eventually earning the opportunity to showcase my work at the Cannes Film Festival for seven consecutive years. My role has extended beyond fashion into film, working as a producer and costume designer for short films, where storytelling and style go hand in hand.

It’s been a privilege to see my creations worn on global stages by talented actresses like Lea Mornar and Kiera Chaplin, often paired with Chopard’s dazzling jewellery. From the Latin Grammys to the Venice and Berlin Film Festivals, my gowns are designed to turn heads while empowering the women who wear them.

But my work goes beyond the runway. I’m passionate about female empowerment and proud to support initiatives like SHE SQUAD and “Yes She Cannes,” founded by Faith Elizabeth, which spotlight and support women in the film industry. I was also honored to participate in the 2018 World Peace Night charity event alongside LaToya Jackson, celebrating women who lead with grace and purpose.

To me, fashion is a form of strength. It’s how women express who they are and who they aspire to be. My mission is simple: to design for women who embody elegance, confidence, and power.

She is elegance. She is fire. She is a force. She leads. She dares. Yes, she Cannes.
