Dubai Municipality Plants 300,000+ Trees in Major $50 Million Greening Initiative

Dubai Municipality has launched an ambitious landscaping initiative, planting more than 300,000 trees across the city as part of a $50 million project aimed at enhancing urban green spaces and promoting environmental sustainability.

The large-scale effort focuses on creating cooler, greener neighborhoods while improving air quality and biodiversity. Trees have been strategically planted along roads, parks, and public areas to provide shade, reduce the urban heat island effect, and contribute to the city’s vision of becoming one of the world’s most sustainable urban centers.

Officials highlighted that the project also supports Dubai’s broader goals under its Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and its commitment to increasing green cover by 30% by 2030. The initiative is expected to deliver long-term ecological and social benefits, making the city more livable for residents and visitors alike.

This milestone reflects Dubai Municipality’s dedication to balancing rapid urban development with environmental stewardship, setting a benchmark for sustainable city planning in the region.
