An Iranian lawmaker has cautioned that reimposing United Nations sanctions on Iran could exacerbate insecurity and instability across the Middle East, escalating tensions in an already volatile region.
Speaking in parliament, the official emphasized that renewed sanctions would harm diplomatic efforts and deepen economic hardships, potentially fueling unrest and conflict beyond Iran’s borders.
“Reinstating sanctions is not just an attack on Iran’s economy but a threat to peace and security throughout the region,” the lawmaker said. “We urge the international community to consider the wider consequences before taking such steps.” 
The warning comes amid growing international debate over Iran’s nuclear program and the future of the 2015 nuclear deal, with some countries pushing to renew punitive measures.
Regional analysts say any renewed sanctions risk further destabilizing an area already grappling with conflicts in Syria, Yemen, and elsewhere, complicating diplomatic resolutions.
