At the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, within the framework of Isola Edipo, acclaimed director Anatoly Balchev will present his film “Vysotsky. Unknown… a True Story” as a special event screening.

Through rare and previously unseen footage, along with powerful testimonies, the film reveals untold stories from the life of Vladimir Vysotsky — the Rebel Poet, Bard, and Artist whose influence extended far beyond Russia, reaching France, the United States, Canada, Italy, and Mexico in the 1960s and 70s. His creativity in theater, cinema, and poetry was born through hardship and sacrifice, and his legacy continues to inspire debate and admiration across generations.

The screening will be held in the presence of Anatoly Balchev, marking a meaningful cultural occasion that brings Vysotsky’s voice and image closer to today’s audiences.
