Dubai, March 4, 2025 – The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) is set to host a significant international participation at its upcoming edition, scheduled for April 28 to May 1 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event is expected to see notable growth in participation from key regions, including Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Americas, underscoring the ongoing recovery and rising demand in the global tourism sector.
The 2025 ATM’s central theme will focus on “Global Travel: Developing Tomorrow’s Tourism Through Enhanced Connectivity,” emphasizing the role of connectivity in shaping the future of the industry. The event is anticipated to draw over 47,000 visitors and 2,600 exhibitors from more than 161 destinations worldwide.
The World Tourism Barometer from the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) revealed that international tourist arrivals reached 1.4 billion in 2024, reflecting an 11% increase from the previous year. Additionally, global tourism revenue, including passenger transport, reached a record high of $1.9 trillion. The Middle East region, in particular, has outperformed expectations, with a 32% increase in international arrivals compared to 2019, positioning it as the strongest performer since the pandemic. 
Asia is anticipated to be the fastest-growing region at ATM 2025, with a projected 27% increase in the number of exhibitors. This growth is fueled by enhanced regional connectivity and stronger links to international markets, creating new opportunities for expansion. Alongside national tourism organizations, regional and local destinations, as well as private sector participants, are increasing their presence at the event.
The event is supported by key strategic partners such as the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Emirates (official airline), IHG Hotels & Resorts (official hotel partner), and Al Rais Travel (official destination management partner).
In a major development, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has signed a strategic partnership with Amadeus, a global leader in travel technology, to drive innovation and the development of solutions enhancing the tourist experience. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) aims to establish Dubai as a hub for testing and implementing new technologies, supporting the emirate’s goal of expanding international visitor numbers, which reached a record high of 18.72 million in 2024.
The agreement was signed by Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), and Maher Koubaa, Executive Vice President of the Travel Unit and General Manager of EMEA at Amadeus. The partnership aligns with Dubai’s Economic Agenda (D33), which seeks to solidify the emirate as a global leader in both business and leisure tourism.
This collaboration includes several initiatives, such as data-driven strategies, programmatic advertising for the tourism sector, and B2B marketing efforts. Amadeus will also establish a Center of Excellence in Dubai to enhance the traveler journey. Focus areas for the project include the implementation of biometric technology for smoother airport experiences, contactless payment systems, access management, and enhanced air connectivity.
The partnership also aims to support local and international startup ecosystems, driving innovation and improving market intelligence reporting for the hotel industry and tourism destinations. This collaboration reflects Dubai’s commitment to leveraging technology to meet travelers’ evolving expectations and enhance operational efficiency, reinforcing the city’s position as a hub for research, development, and economic growth in the tourism sector.
