Saudi Arabia is bracing for intense rainfall and turbulent weather across multiple regions, prompting the General Directorate of Civil Defence to issue a safety advisory. Residents are urged to remain cautious and follow precautionary measures as the extreme weather conditions persist until Friday.
The forecast warns of moderate to heavy rains, flash floods, hailstorms, and dust storms in several areas. Authorities have advised the public to avoid flood-prone locations, particularly valleys, and to adhere to safety instructions disseminated via media and social platforms.
Regions including Mecca, Al Baha, Asir, and Jazan are expected to receive significant rainfall, while Najran is set for moderate showers. Light rain is also anticipated in parts of the Medina region. In Mecca, areas such as Taif, Maysan, Adham, and Al Ardiyat face heightened risks of flash floods, hail, and dust storms due to heavy precipitation. Meanwhile, Mecca city, Al Jumum, Al Kamil, and Bahra are forecasted to experience lighter rainfall.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has further warned of thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds affecting the Eastern Province, Riyadh, Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al Baha, and Mecca. Fog formation is also expected in certain areas. Additionally, active surface winds may trigger dust storms in parts of Qassim, Medina, and the coastal areas of Tabuk.
Authorities have urged residents to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
