Mega trading hub inside JAFZA to open in 2026, connecting Indian enterprises to over 150 global destinations through state-of-the-art logistics.
Dubai has officially launched the construction of Bharat Mart, a cutting-edge trading complex led by DP World, aimed at becoming a central global hub for Indian manufacturers, exporters, and SMEs. The marketplace, set inside the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), is designed to boost India’s trade footprint and enable seamless cross-border commerce with global markets.
The virtual unveiling of the project took place in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, along with India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, His Excellency Piyush Goyal, and DP World Group Chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem.
Strategic Partnership in Action
Sheikh Hamdan highlighted Bharat Mart as a symbol of the ever-deepening UAE-India economic partnership. “Dubai’s world-class connectivity is a gateway for global expansion, and with over 2,300 Indian companies already thriving in JAFZA, Bharat Mart will take our partnership to a new level by enabling faster access to international markets for Indian goods,” he said.
The project reflects the robust momentum in non-oil trade between the two nations, with the UAE and India targeting $100 billion in bilateral trade by 2030.
A Milestone for India-UAE Trade Corridors
Minister Goyal praised DP World’s vision, calling Bharat Mart “a transformative step” aligned with the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). “It opens the door for Indian MSMEs to expand into the Middle East and Africa, and will catalyze new growth for women-led enterprises as well,” he noted.
Mega Infrastructure with a Global Outlook
Once completed by end-2026, Bharat Mart will stretch across 2.7 million square feet, with the first phase comprising 1.3 million square feet. It will include:
- 1,500 dedicated showrooms
- Over 700,000 square feet of warehousing and light industrial units
- Office and meeting spaces
- Designated zones for women-owned Indian businesses
Strategically located 11 km from Jebel Ali Port, 15 km from Al Maktoum International Airport, and linked with Etihad Rail, the facility is positioned to give Indian exporters unrivaled multimodal connectivity. From Jebel Ali, traders can reach 150 maritime destinations and over 300 global cities by air, enhancing reach and reducing time to market.
A Hub for MSMEs and Innovation
Bharat Mart is set to become a launchpad for micro, small, and medium-sized Indian enterprises (MSMEs) looking to scale globally. By integrating warehousing, retail, and logistics in one ecosystem, DP World is building a future-ready trading environment tailored for the new age of digital commerce and economic collaboration.
In 2024 alone, 283 new Indian companies joined JAFZA, bringing the total to over 2,300 — a testament to Dubai’s continued role as a preferred gateway for Indian businesses into international markets.
